Woodo demo walkthrough
Two dioramas, one introduction, and the rooms players actually get stuck in.
The Woodo demo is the honest version of the game. Tiny Monks Tales describes it as an introduction plus two full dioramas. You assemble, discover, and listen at your own pace. This walkthrough names rooms and object types so you can unstick a scene. It does not list every gag, because the click is the point.
Play a room once with only Getting Started and Controls open. Come back here if a sidebar piece has nowhere to sit. For general search habits, use puzzle tips.
Where to download the demo
The demo is playable on:
- Steam — app 3587740, listed from the main Woodo store page
- PlayStation 5 — free demo in the PlayStation Store
- Xbox Series X|S — free demo in the Xbox store
- Nintendo Switch — demo appeared after the Steam Next Fest window; check the eShop if your region lists it
Official store URLs sit on stores. The demo is not a timed event build anymore; it has been a standing slice since August 2025 and returned for Steam Next Fest in June 2026 with console access attached.
How the demo is structured
Think of three beats, not a campaign map:
- Introduction — Foxy, the wooden language, and the first “drag this to that” lesson. Finish it. Skipping training here only makes the loft harder.
- First full diorama — a lived-in interior. Breakfast and kitchen memory footage in later trailers shows the same grammar: tableware, food, a cat, furniture that opens.
- Second full diorama — the dusty loft / den that exclusive gameplay footage walks in real time. This is the room people stall in, because height, clutter, and nested containers all show up at once.
Narration in the demo is English voice with subtitles in 19 languages. Full multilingual voiceover is a launch feature, not a demo feature. See release date if you are waiting on a specific voice track.
Introduction: learn the click, not the lore
The intro teaches three muscles: orbit until you see pale wood, grab from the stash, seat on a matching silhouette. Let Foxy talk. You do not need story explained yet. If a piece will not seat, you are hovering the wrong face of the object. Flip the camera, do not spam the same slot.
When color blooms, pause. That bloom is the success state. Train your eye to hunt remaining pale patches instead of remaining sidebar icons. The stash can lie if you have not opened a container yet.
First full diorama: the lived-in interior
Public footage of “A Memory for the Breakfast Table” is the best reference for this grammar even if your demo room is not a literal 1:1 breakfast. Expect:
- A table that is a puzzle on every side
- Plates, cups, and food that want exact pegs, not “near the placemat”
- A pet or small creature that is a piece, not scenery
- At least one object you assemble in isolation (the cupcake pattern) before it belongs on the larger stage
Work the tabletop first, then the floor, then the walls. If bread or a kettle remains, look at heat sources and shelves, not the table center you already finished. Peek inside cabinets. The puzzle tips page expands this search order.
Second full diorama: the dusty loft
Exclusive gameplay shared with Wholesome Games opens on Foxy’s dusty den: a forgotten corner “without care for space or time,” with roommates who listen badly. That description is the design brief. Clutter is the mechanic.
Walk it like this:
- Do a slow 360 at medium zoom. Mark chests, beams, and anything with a lid.
- Clear the floor walkway so later zooms have a visual rest. Shoes, boxes, and small toys usually live here.
- Open every container. The loft is a box of boxes. If the stash holds a round object, it probably belongs inside a chest, not on a beam.
- Look up. Loft means rafters. A hanging item will not seat until the camera is uncomfortable.
- Look at Foxy’s “roommates.” Wooden figures in the room are often sockets or pieces, not decoration. If a creature is still pale, it is unfinished.
- Save nested toys for last. Assemble the miniature, then place the miniature. Doing it in reverse fights the sidebar.
If you stall for more than a few minutes, take the in-game assistance. The loft is meant to feel like rummaging, not like a pixel hunt with a shame timer.
Controller and Deck notes for the demo
Gamepad support is in. Early demo text said rumble was off by default. Steam Deck was called playable with early support and no touchscreen path. If you are on Deck, use a mouse or trackpads rather than fighting the touch panel. Details stay on Controls and system requirements.
After both dioramas
You have seen the toy. Decide:
- If you loved the click, compare editions and wishlist on your platform via stores.
- If the story hooked you more than the sockets, read Foxy, Ben, and story explained.
- If a piece still haunts you, dump the search order from puzzle tips onto the scene list so you know which trailer rooms are still ahead.
The full game launches September 16, 2026. The demo is not the whole summer. It is the first weekend in the village.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many scenes are in the Woodo demo?
An introduction plus two full dioramas. Tiny Monks Tales states that count on the Steam demo page.
Where do I get the Woodo demo?
Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch. Official URLs are collected on stores.
I cannot finish the dusty loft. What now?
Orbit, open every chest, look at the rafters, then use assistance. Nested toys need to be built before they sit in the room.
Does demo progress carry into the full game?
Treat the demo as a separate slice until launch notes say otherwise. We will update news if Tiny Monks Tales confirms a carry-over.
